Christian Lange, Director
Christian Lange is a Chilean artist and musician who has made Knoxville, Tennessee, his home base. In 1992, he founded a commercial photography studio in Knoxville, working with high-profile clients such as Warner Brothers, Columbia Records, GE, and American Express. His deep connection to the music industry led him to create the Knoxville Music Directory, printed annually from 1992 to 2000. He has designed and photographed scores of LP covers for musical acts and has had an active role in promoting Knoxville’s music to A&R groups through special projects. In 2010, Christian founded Swingbooty, a seven-piece gypsy swing band renowned for its multi-sensory performances (www.swingbooty.com). In 2015, Christian started the live concert series Jazz at Ijams, a festival of art, music, and international cuisine. He purchased a property in the Old Sevier neighborhood in 2017 and has played an active role in its transformation into an arts district.

Charles Gurney, Secretary & Director of Community Outreach
Charles Gurney recently retired from the diplomatic service as an Political Officer, bringing decades of experience in communication, policy, and international affairs. Throughout his career, he served in eight countries across Africa and Europe, working on public diplomacy, conflict resolution, and cultural engagement.
A longtime resident of Old Sevier and an active member of the Old Sevier Community Group, Charlie is passionate about community-building and the arts. His organizational and communication skills help drive SoKno Sculpt’s outreach efforts. His dedication to public spaces, sustainability, and creative expression makes him a vital advocate for enriching South Knoxville through art.

David Krebs, Organizer
David Krebs is a science teacher at West High School, known for his curiosity, enthusiasm, and commitment to lifelong learning. He is passionate about art, nature, and sustainable living, incorporating these interests into both his teaching and community work.
As an organizer for SoKno Sculpt, David helps shape public art initiatives that celebrate creativity and local culture. He fosters an inclusive learning environment, where students take ownership of their education and engage in real-world problem-solving. Whether exploring native plants, planning field trips, or supporting local art, David is always inspiring those around him.

Wilson Browning, Organizer
Wilson Browning is a sculptor and blacksmith whose work spans fine art, architectural projects, and home accessories. A Pellissippi State alumnus, Wilson also works as a commercial photographer.
With a deep understanding of the technical and business aspects of metal sculpture, Wilson brings valuable insight to the team. His aesthetic sensibility, problem-solving skills, and ability to organize complex projects make him a key asset to SoKno Sculpt. Wilson’s craftsmanship, design expertise, and passion for public art help shape the future of SoKno Sculpt.
